Kevin O'Leary, AKA Mr. Wonderful, On Why Mothers May Make Better CEOs

Kevin O'Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful on the hit series "Shark Tank," told HuffPost Live on Apr. 21 that he makes more money from female CEOs than men. But we at HuffPost Live wanted to know more, so we invited him back on Monday to discuss.

O'Leary speculated with host Caroline Modderessi-Tehrani that a mother's ability to tackle her family's schedule translates into the skills necessary to run a successful company.

"They're so advanced at managing their time -- raising a family, taking care of kids, doing whatever else is necessary -- and doing something else, in addition to that, like running a business," he said. "So maybe it's their ability to manage time that is really taking them ahead in running small, large and mid-cap businesses."

Tracey Noonan, the founder of Wicked Good Cupcakes -- which O'Leary, an investor in the business, has praised for making him money -- was also present for the HPL interview and agreed with O'Leary. Noonan said that while she doesn't have an MBA or college degree, being a mother has given her all the necessary tools for success.

"I think being a mom and running a successful household, having the qualities where you're good at nurturing are really key to running a good business. Because if you're nurturing you can inspire and you can develop your employees," Noonan said. "And if you have employees that listen to you and like you and are inspired by you, they are better workers, and I think you're more successful."
